Stuart Piggin


B.A. (Hons), Dip.Ed., Ph.D., A.K.C., B.D., D.Litt.
Founding Director of MCSI, Stuart began teaching as a Lecturer in History at the University of Wollongong, and is a Board member of the Institute of Contemporary Church Leadership in that city. Until December 2004 he was Master of Robert Menzies College at Macquarie University, during which time he has presided over its School of Christian Studies and the development of the Centre for the Study of Australian Christianity. He is the author of several books, and many
articles, on the history of Australian Evangelicalism, and has a special interest in Revivalism in this country. He lectures mainly in the history and impact of Christianity, and in past and contemporary Christian Spirituality.

Dr Piggin is currently the Director of the Centre for the History of Christian Thought and Experience, a centre fostering research into the origins and continuity of the Christian tradition and into Australian Christianity at Macquarie University.
