You may have heard that MCSI is not continuing to offer subjects in 2009. Unfortunately this is true. After semester 2 2008, we will not be able to offer Christian Studies subjects in the current format.
Our Board is currently considering whether there may be any possible future for university level Christian studies. If you would like to stay informed about what happens in the future please sign up for our email newsletter and we will keep you in touch with any developments.
Can I do MCSI courses anywhere else?
Yes .... and no! There are still opportunities to take up Christian studies, but the unique arrangement that MCSI had negotiated with Macquarie University to include Christian Studies in standard university degree programs has now come to an end.
However, you may be interested in these options: The School of Christian Studies (SOCS), located at Robert Menzies College on Macquarie University Campus, is planning to offer some of the "MCSI" undergraduate level subjects from 2009. Contact SOCS to find out the details. Postgraduate Seminars with John Dickson and Greg Clarke In 2009 Greg and John, who jointly direct the Centre for Public Christianity, will be teaching in the 2009 Macquarie University Masters of Early Christian and Jewish Studies degree program.
Other options for Christian and theological studies can be found by checking the websites of the Australian College of Theology and the Sydney College of Divinity, which provide links to a number of theological colleges in NSW and Australia.
What about the MCSI Library?
Lots of people have asked what is happening to the MCSI library. You will be pleased to know that the unique collection of faith and life resources that were developed by MCSI is being kept together.
The MCSI library collection is being maintained by the School of Christian Studies, located at Robert Menzies College, on the Macquarie University campus. To find out details please contact SOCS. » Library catalogue
